I feel so thankful to have so many amazing people in my life.  Wow, the way people can love deeply and give of themselves is incredible!  It's just a reflection of God's constant and unchanging love.  I want to know more of that love today.

God, I pray we'd all be deeply touched by your love today!  Let us feel a fresh touch from you and be reminded that we can love because you are the one who has loved us first.  Motivate us by your love in all we do today!  We love you! :)

(My lil' spontaneous xanga prayer) :)  Love you guys!

Oops!  I listed five things about me.  Was I supposed to list 5 or 6?  Well, 5 it is! :)

No 635 for me tonight! :(  We have a doctor's appointment early tomorrow morning and driving in crummy weather causes mom to worry.  I will miss it!  You guys are in my thoughts and prayers tonight!

I love coffee shops!!!  Especially coffee shops with free wireless internet.  Yup, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and some xanga right now.  Probably the one thing that tops a coffee shop is a good bookstore like Barnes and Nobles or Borders which have coffee shops in them.  :)  Yeah, I could spend all day in the Borders here in the Woodlands!

Yes, I was tagged awhile ago by Brian...six weird or interesting things about me...

1) I find almost every part of the goat tasty!  I love goat cheese, had some goat milk with granola for breakfast today, and actually liked eating those goat intestinal packages while in Morocco.  Why don't we eat more goat here in the States!?  :)

2) I love an iced cold beer!  My favorites are Honey Brown, Dos Equis Amber, and Sunshine Honeywheat Beer.  Usually I like any amber lagers.

3) I LOVE to read!!!  It's probably one of my favorite pastimes.  I enjoy learning new things.  You can never run out of things to learn.  I like non-fiction reading more than fiction.

4) My favorite secular artists are Norah Jones, Coldplay, and Josh Groban.

5) Another pastime I enjoy is cooking. :)  I have lots of time and financial resourses for that here in the Woodlands.  I'm basically my mom's personal chef and it's been great!

Just some Hulie facts for ya!  Miss you guys!!!

So, we met the new doctor and he is great.  He seems to know what he's talking about, he's actually one of the best oncologists in Houston, and he has a neat sense of humor.  We found ourselves laughing a lot!  The great news is that he is treating my mom with the hopes of a cure!  Sometimes doctors treat patients with hopes only to shrink the tumor and prolong their life a bit or to relieve a patient's pain, but he is treating with a cure in mind.  This is HUGE!!!

He did share that the cancer is in an aggressive state and there is a good possibility that is has spread on a micro level to some lymph nodes in the nearby area and possibly to her bloodstream through the tumor located on her aorta but it has not spread in her body at a macro level.  The micro and macro terms were the ones he used.  :)  Anyways, the chemo should take care of any of that spreading.  He said that taking the chemo and radiation at the same time will be hard on her body and she will experience various side effects.  He asked her if she liked her hair.  We actually all laughed at that.  :)  He said she should be prepared to lose it.  She ordered a wig online right when we got home.  :)  You can order anything online nowadays!  She sends in a hair sample and her head measurements and they send us back a wig.  Crazy huh!?

I guess that was the jist of our meeting today.  Thursday we will visit with the radiation oncologist and get details on her radiation therapy.  My mom is doing well.  She said to me two times today.."Well Julie, looks like we've got some challenges ahead of us."  She said she's preparing herself and will be ready for the treatments when the time comes.  She has been so strong and hopeful in it all.  It's really incredible.  I have the most amazing mom!!!  Thanks for the prayers guys!  I will continue to keep you updated!

Tomorrow is a big day.  My mom, dad and I are all driving down to the medical center to meet with my mom's oncologist.  An oncologist is a doctor who studies tumors and determines the ammount and type of drug to give for chemotherapy.  We shall see what they say...
